Itchy Skin Conditions to Make You Itch

Itchy skin, which is also known as pruritus, can be caused by hundreds of things. It can come from a rash or insect bite or some other skin condition such as dermatitis or psoriasis. Doctors will often prescribe these at first to see if they work on the patient to save the patient money on unnecessary testing.
Eczema is an itchy skin condition that can affect adults or children. When it affects children, it's referred to as childhood eczema or atopic eczema. Childhood eczema is a hereditary condition that affects many babies. The skin of eczema patients is inflamed, irritated, and well as very itchy. It will usually show up on the inner creases of the knees and elbows in young children and on the neck or face of babies. As itchy as it makes them, they are discouraged to not scratch as this can tear the skin and cause bleeding and infection.

Scalp psoriasis is a hereditary condition that can affect us at any age, but it most often between the ages of 10 and 30. Doctors can prescribe medication for this skin condition.
